Considered as one of the three oldest temples in Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu, this temple at Thiruppaadagam is the only temple in South India with a 25 feet tall sitting statue of Lord Krishna in the sanctum sanctorum. A rarest of the rare form of the Lord, this temple with the magnificent architecture is associated with a chapter in Mahabharata when Krishna went to the Kauravas as a missive or dhoodha to the Pandavas. He revealed his Vishwarupa darshan, his giant form, to the blind king Dridharashtira, father of Duryodhana in this place.
